Other

  • Vermont Farm-sitting Network http://groups.yahoo.com/group/farm-sit/
Please come join our co-op of small farms in northern Vermont and exchange farm-sitting with other farmers in your area. Each member of the group has a small farm (under 30-ish animals) and sooner or later would like to go on a weekend trip or week-long vacation. You have probably experienced the same problem. How do you convince someone to take care of all of your animals? Will you feel confident that the person can handle it while you're gone? No money changes hands in this network. Each member must be known by or referred by at least one other member of the group. Then we can vouch for the sitters being good upstanding responsible people. Each sitter starts with 10 days of farm-sitting points. To earn more points you can farm-sit for another member. When you want to have someone farm-sit for you then post a request and "pay" your sitter with one point per day. Tell your friends and neighbors and help us spread the word, item # 500
